January 24, 2008, 04:38 PMI would consider it worthwhile, but I really have no idea what the 88groups thing is all about.

January 24, 2008, 04:58 PMThanks, Bazza. Wow, this is great! I tried the audio but it didn't work for me. Maybe my computer's too slow. I'll try again later. I went to China Town in Chicago a few months ago and picked up a NIV 英汉bible. I don't suppose anyone knows where you can get a KJV version 英汉bible? I grew up with that version and am more used to it, so I thought it would be neat to get it in chinese.

January 24, 2008, 06:52 PMThe audio file may take while to download as it includes all 50 chapters of genesis and is over 4 hours long. ;)

January 24, 2008, 07:36 PMBazza: Very, very cool! Actually I was going to be starting my own Chinese Bible 88groups, but I guess I got beat to the punch. No matter...it's great to have it up there!

January 24, 2008, 11:45 PMJust added chapter 2. I've realise that if I only post one chapter per week it will take nearly a year to just get through genesis. hehe Maybe 2 or 3 a week, but one per day it probably too hard to keep up with.

January 25, 2008, 10:09 PMyes, big thanks. I'm sure this will be a big help in picking up some new vocab and help me with grammar as well. keep it up man, those of us who are more or less just beginning our addiction with mandarin appreciate people like yourself who keep dealing it to us in different ways.

January 27, 2008, 02:13 AMTo answer bingge's question about Bibles with KJV and Chinese: do you know the program Wenlin? Among its included documents is a English-Chinese KJV 和合本 Bible. It's in traditional characters though. I live near Chicago. Pui Tak Christian Bookstore staff (on Wentworth Ave.) might help you out. Also, www.afc-inc.org has a lot of Christian and Bible books in Mandarin -- mostly traditional script, but simplified is pretty well represented. I'd suggest their site if you're looking for a specific kind of Bible. If nothing else, give their office a call and they might know. Hope it helps. I didn't know of 88groups and will have to check that out. Thanks!
