We are trying to find the causes of the crash now. The workaround is to delete the old app and reinstall the app from App Store then things should work again.

August 26, 2014, 09:41 AMHi YiZeng
If I delete the app and reinstall it to fix this problem will my saved lessons and vocabulary still be available?
Thank you
Gwilym-ChinesePod
I'm afraid YiZeng has left, but I can tell you that when I deleted the app, the bugs went away. The vocabulary should remain, but there is a chance you might loose your bookmarked and downloaded content. Sorry that this is not an ideal work around. I know how frustrating it is. Let me know how it goes.

I deleted and reinstalled the app and this has restored the app functionality to where it used to be - terrific. All my saved lessons are showing but need to be downloaded again. This is no big problem.
BUT all my saved vocabulary decks although listed are now empty - not so good. Is there some way to recover these decks?
Another recent issue. When I try to make a new deck I get a message "you need an internet connection to create new decks". This is with a connection and all other other apps working ok.
Please advise
Thanks

Hi Nznev, do your vocabulary words still show up on the main website (Tools>Vocabulary)
https://chinesepod.com/tools/vocab/
Sorry that this has happened. I'll see what we can do. I'm glad you can listen to the audio once again though.

August 29, 2014, 07:14 AMHi Gwilym
I can see the vocabulary decks on the website complete with all saved words, is there some way to get these back on to the iphone app?
I can create new vocab decks and save words into these decks on the website but when I open the app although the new deck appears I get the "this deck is empty" message as per all the other decks. I have logged out and back in, rebooted the phone, nothing seems to help. The app vocabulary tool is inoperative at the moment.
Please advise
Thanks

An update for you. The app is now working perfectly, all my vocab decks are now visible and useable. Fantastic.
I really love this app and it is great to have it restored to 100% functionality!
Thanks very much for your help
Gwilym-ChinesePod
That is excellent news. I'm so happy that the decks are back. In future, feel free to email me if you want any help or advice at gwilym@chinesepod.com

June 27, 2014, 04:57 AMHi YiZeng-
I know you're working hard, but the new version appears to have made no change to the two most crucial bugs:
1) After the phone goes into standby (screen dark) the app shuts off within a few seconds
2) The Self-Study list does not cache the last updated batch of lessons for offline retrieval
Earlier versions of the app had no trouble with this. These bugs make the app unusable.
