First time 第一次

March 01, 2008, 02:32 PMcasie, may I pls try to translate your all-Chinese post for your many CPOD friends: I believe this is what casie wrote: "Today, for the first time, I've decided to do my CPOD post in Chinese characters only. Have been back in school for a week now; every day is hectic, and time just seems to fly. My exams are only a week away now, and I'm not feeling very confident; somehow I have the feeling that my chances of getting through are somewhat dim. But even so, I just try to be as diligent as I can. Still, I am feeling a bit weary. Now I really, REALLY miss the wonderful, carefree moments that I spent with you on CPOD during the winter vacation." Casie, I know that every single one of your MANY friends in CPOD wishes you well. From this Auntie: casie, please be of good heart as you prepare for your exams. Never doubt your own abilities! So many people have learned so much from your English-language posts here. And the many heartfelt compliments you have received from us, on account of your clear and accurate English, don't even do justice to the abilities which shine through in every one of your posts. Don't forget to rest! And please let me wish you all the best -- including a calm, focussed heart -- as you tackle your exams. Take care! We have confidence in you. xxx. Auntie68

March 03, 2008, 11:09 AMHello. This Auntie would like to make the (very happy, but unauthorised) announcement that cassie has breezed through her CET (College English Test) exam. My personal research tells me that this CET is the PRC's national test of English Proficiency for university students. The standards are set by central authorities, rather than the candidate's own university, which makes it something of a "gold standard" (*NB: my words, NOT the words of cassie who is so, so modest!) for prospective employers. This was one part of Cassie graduation requirements, but an important one. Well done, cassie! I know that the thoughts and good wishes of quite a few of us will be keeping you company as you complete your degree. Even if you don't know it at the time!

March 03, 2008, 11:14 AMP/s: Casie passed the CET at the much higher level aimed at college students who are specializing in English as their college major. Again, well done!
