I am writing a chinese assignment about my routine. I am trying to say that i go to university on weekdays but i am having trouble finding the appropriate chinese expression for ether "weekdays" or for "from monday to friday" Does anyone know how i would express these ideas?

Here's an example from my Chinese Phrases for Dummies book that might help:

我星期一到星期五工作

Wǒ xīngqīyī dào xīngqiwǔ gōngzuò

I work from Monday to Friday.

or literally: [I] [monday] [to] [friday] [work]

Hi joannah,

There is a Chinese word like “平日” (ping2 ri4), but I don’t think it is commonly used in China (FYI, the word is frequently used in Japanese). And my suggestion is that you don’t have to particularly mention “weekdays” in the sentence because it is usually very obvious in the context, or I recommend you use the phrase “除了周末” or “星期一到星期五”.

Good luck!
