Change language on Windows

May 31, 2008, 07:39 AM posted in General DiscussionIs there any way to change the general language of my OS (Vista)? Right now, I'm stuck with a German interface but I have to admit that I understand very little. (What can you expect after one year of sec school German?) I'd really prefer English (or, for practice purposes, Chinese, that's why I post this question here). Unfortunately, the language option section doesn't seem to allow for a change. Can anyone help me out?

May 31, 2008, 09:41 AMThis may help you, I think it's easier in Vista than in XP.

May 31, 2008, 09:47 AMChangye, OSX ships with something like 20 languages that it can be switched back and forth at will (and different users can use different languages). Unfortunately Microsoft hasn't caught on...

May 31, 2008, 10:35 AMThanks Bazza, though it seems they've got neither Chinese nor English on offer. :-(

May 31, 2008, 10:40 AMGuys,
Wow, the computer world seems to be much more advanced than I imagined, and that made me realize again that Windows has always been falling behind Mac! Thank you.

May 31, 2008, 08:37 AMI'm not a computer geek, but as far as I know, I'm afraid that there is no "dream OS" that can change its base language at present. I believe that even "Windows 7" won't have such a nice function.
I understand how you feel. My PC has two Windows, Japanese and Chinese ones (dual boot), but it's really cumbersom. I don't think it's so difficult to make such a dream OS, that is, Windows International.
