August 05, 2009 at 09:35 AM posted in General DiscussionMy first year is nearly up and so I've been waiting for the next News&Features to see [crossing my fingers] if my timing is lucky enough to be offered a special August promotion.I was just looking for the link on the Me page to go and check out the blog John just referred me to when lo and behold I noticed there is currently a promotion.Can it really be that for a premium subscription one can get a whole year upgrade to guided? I'm stoked if that is the case.

Alarming! I recall having said not long ago.
You have the best study buddy in the world and I'm sure that's been your main motivation, but you really show us how an inquisitive mind can take on something this difficult through a fun-loving and open approach. We could learn a lot from you!

I'm sure if you heard me try to speak you would have a good chuckle at my awkward efforts and not be too impressed [another reason I'm over the moon at the prospect of a free guided upgrade...I desperately need some speaking practice and I get so little opportunity to otherwise].Hey,I even give myself a good laugh about it.Online dictionaries are a huge help and may give the illusion that one is further ahead than one really is.Anyhow,cheers for your kind sentiments mate.But any progress I have made I owe to the awesome teaching from our talented and ever patient laoshimen and the support of the community too.Thankyou one and all.
ps.hehe,yeah,it always does that to a first post I've noticed and I recall those old ads.

BTW, your first avatar above has somehow been shortened [does this happen on all first posts?) making you look like you might be in one of those toothbrush ads where they say ..'Dan is a dentist and so we cannot show you his face..'
