hi. i have a couple of questions.

1. could someone please tell me the difference in use of 还 and 也 ?

2. also im wondering how to use 了 (change of state) in the sentences that talk about the future. one example

这个星期天气都不好,下个星期天气才会好了

do i need the 了 in this sentence, because its a change of state, or dont i use 了 like that while talking about the future.

please use an example if you have a little bit of time, so i can understand the differences easilier. thanks

Hi warius,

1. In the simplest cases, 还 corresponds to "still" and 也 corresponds to "also." Some examples:

我还没去过中国。

I still haven't been to China.

我也喜欢中国菜。

I also like Chinese food.

There are some other uses which I'm not an expert on, but these are the simplest (and I believe most common) uses.

I'm not too sure about your second question. Hopefully, someone else can shed some light on it.

下个星期天气会很好。
下个星期天气会转好。
下个星期天气会好起来。
下个星期天气转好
天气马上要好起来
