Annoying PM:s

January 19, 2010 at 07:07 PM posted in General DiscussionI have recieved several PM:s from Chinese people who want to teach me Chinese / learn English / get romantically involved (!) with me. I'm sure these are from good people who genuinely want to get a foreign (boy)friend, but I'm really not interested and they get kind of annoying. Is there anyone else with this problem? Can something be done about it?
I really don't want to refuse PMs, because I've recieved many nice and valuable messages from fellow learners. Maybe a toggle for displaying on one's profile (I am interested / NOT interested in connecting with Chinese locals) or something?
(If you who sent me that PM read this, please be careful with entering into romantic relationships with strangers on the Internet!)

Strangely enough, I have only had random PMs from boys...For some reason the girls don't want to "study" with me.

You need to look less dashing and manly in your pic simon! It's your own fault! And your hat is a bit of an attention grabber for lonely heart ladies most like.
I did used to get a few of these, and I'd simply delete and forget them. Isn't that the simplest thing?
