unblocked sites

Hi all,

Has any one else noticed danwei en picasa are unblocked? Maybe facebook is next :-)? Would make a nice CNY present from the gov. Any other sites that were blocked before are accessible again?  Just fyi.

I can access picasa, but not danwei and facebook, here in northeast China. I can't find any reason for Chiense authorities to loosen censorship, on the contrary, probably the situation will get worse. Spring has yet to come, or winter is nearing.

Aww, chanelle! You had my hopes up for a moment there. I've been praying for my picasaweb photo album to be unblocked for months now, but I'm afraid it isn't. I don't get it though, how can it be unblocked in 南京 and still blocked in 广东？奇怪。

Anyway I discovered today that the Internet Movie Database seems to be accessible again. Halleluyah!

Ahw sorry, I could really access them and was very surprised, hence the post.

For me they are still accessible.

Picasa and Danwei are still blocked here in western China (and I think we live in the liberal end of the country.)  Chanelle - are you still accessing these sites (or doing it through a vpn).
