Self coined Chinese words

September 13, 2010, 11:56 AM posted in General DiscussionHave you ever coined a Chinese word? ok,I'm not asking for anything that has made it into the language ,been officially recognised,or even published anywhere.I'm just asking for anything you've either made up and left it at that or something you've added to your own vocab at home or amongst mates [I mean a lot of people do that in their native tongue right?].Anyhow,if you have ..great if you could share by posting here,if not,why not give it a shot and add them here.

March 09, 2010, 09:25 AMThat's not a bit vulgar, but rather vulgar, so it's best not to use it in front of native Chinese guys.

March 09, 2010, 10:31 AMpretzellogic & xiao_liang - I use it as a vulgar slang term for 避孕套。
鸡巴 is a slang term for the male anatomy, but as changye clearly states, it's very rude way of saying.

ok,well meaning wise it was meant to comprise the idea that while they might have started flying high,in the end it was all brought down to earth stuff...kept in check..kept real.It is at the same time somewhat of a transliteration of a classic aussie term.Still no takers?
xiao_liang
I find it hard enough reading real chinese. Reading made up chinese is enough to make me cry!
bababardwan
fair dinkum?
bababardwan
ok,I'll come clean.The above post was not only a question,it was also the answer.That is ,I was trying above to coin a Chinese term for "fair dinkum" .Anyone else got any?

March 09, 2010, 08:51 AMI've got a few atually, but my favorite is the following (a bit vulgar so don't read if easily offended);
鸡巴衣服

xiao_liang
Using my awesome powers of translate (read: mandarin-tools.com and google translate) it reads as chicken hope clothes. Or cock clothes. Or... nope, no idea.
