September 06, 2007, 04:28 AM posted in General DiscussionHey 大家,
If you've been wondering (since it is great to see this community noticing people being gone and coming back), some day I'll be back... once I get settled in Edinburgh and start my masters in Chinese studies (literature, politics, business, etc.)... oh yes, I will be.... (providing that all my studying in Chinese in the past makes the whole program easier for me than the err..umm..newbies I'll be studying with).... until then, miss you guys!

September 06, 2007, 05:13 AMAll the best! & Have fun studying in Edinburgh! I only visited that city once and thought it is extremly beautiful. But as there is hardly a place without Internet access I hope you drop by once in a while anyway...

September 06, 2007, 07:20 AMAll the best from me as well! I've never been to Edinburgh myself but have only heard good things about the student life there. If you haven't read anything by Ian Rankin yet you should really read some of his Rebus stories now you're going to live in there.

September 06, 2007, 11:50 PMThat is awesome. Any Ideas what you are looking to focus on? After this year I am going to have to decide between Grad School or the Foreign Service. I would be interested in hearing how the studying goes and what you are doing. Good luck.

September 08, 2007, 10:57 AMTHank you all for your best of lucks... but yeah, I am not leaving, I meant to say when I come back I hope this will be a useful resource in all my Chinese studies... but be warned, I might come here to talk and ask questions about the politics, economics, and contemporary literature and social studies of China that I have to study! :) @ RonInDC: True, left Tianjin this summer, now in Edinburgh (read my notes on my FaceBook.com profile, search for "Richard Mahn" and add me, or link from my profile here), but this 2 year program takes me back to Tianjin, China to study my 2nd year at NanKai Daxue. Okay, getting tired of these screwed up British keybaords (heehehe) and gotta move into my dorm. Bye for now -Rich
