We're currently working on the API, and working with our existing partner AISpeech to get all of the bugs out (once they're up and running on the API you'll be able to connect the AISpeech practice tool directly to your vocabulary list). We're also using it as the backend for our own Android and iPhone apps.
Once we're happy with its performance there, we'll be releasing it to a select few developers for a beta test, and then following that opening up to the greater developer community. Please stay tuned to the ChinesePod blog for more information regarding the API's public availability.
