Best Chinese language newspaper?

I'm looking for the Chinese language newspaper with the most guts or journalistic integrity that's published on the mainland. Is there such a beast? Most of the newspapers I've seen are full of glurge. I live in southwest China, which may restrict my options even more, but I'd definitely appreciate any suggestions.

never read the following newspaper:《人民日报》《工人日报》.....these paper is published by communist party and the readers mainly the guy in government. I suggest you read《中国青年报》, it more focus on the real-life of chinese people and give good comments.

I get the 人民日报 in my office back in Toledo. For learing Chinese, it is OK. But is really soft in the reporting. There is a paper out of Chengdu that I felt was much better. Perhaps Wednesday when I get to Chengdu, I can get the name of it.

One of these days, ChinesePod is going to give us an editor so that I can re-edit my comments. "learing" should be "learning". And I need "it" after "But"

Quite a number of newspapers are online, e.g. http://www.cyol.net/; http://www.bjyouth.com.cn/; http://www.peopledaily.com.cn/.

For obvious reasons, the Chinese newspapers with "the most guts" are usually published in Taiwan, Hong Kong, or overseas. However, you have to read traditional characters.

Is there any sites that deliver Chinese newspapers to the UK? It's cooler to have an actual newspaper than to read it online.

Bazza, this probably isn't much use for you living in Yorkshire, but you can usually find loads of foreign newspapers in and around big rail stations. I suppose you could always make the long trek to Manchester. :)

windwalker: I am not in a state to judge any of them. The Chinese is above my abilities. Sorry!

The Chinese Food store here in Edinburgh, 爱华行, carries Chinese newspapers, but maybe all in traditional characters (the one I saw was)... so if you can find a Chinese food store, Bazza, check out if they carry any newspapers.
