红色康拜因 means literally "the red harvester(s)"

What is the explanation of 啥 and 咋?  Are these just abbreviations in dialect, or are they common all over china?

Both 啥 (sha2, = 什么) and 咋 (za3, = 怎么) are words used in the northeast dialect (东北话). I guess that they are relatively well known all over China owing to a lot of movies and TV dramas featuring people and life in northeast China. It's not so easy to find a Chinese who doesn't know 赵本山, a prominent Chinese comic actor born in 辽宁省. He is as famous as 毛泽东 here in China.

I was thinking about the title of this movie today and something just clicked. I now wonder if 红色康拜因 (red harvester) could mean here 红色收割机 (red reaper).

Here is the subtle french equivalent :

"un moissonneur" is a harvester (person male or female)

and

"une moissonneuse" is a reaper (machine).
