August 24, 2009, 09:10 AMThere was a pretty intense typhoon that hit the entire island. The southern part was hit the hardest, with the worst flooding in 50 years....about 8 feet of rain in less than 2 days. This caused massive mudslides.
The death toll currently stands at about 125, with another 500 people missing, most likely burried in the mudslides.
