March 23, 2020 at 7:00 AMI would say, it depends on the relationship and the context of the conversation. For example,
A:你在写什么?What are you writing?
B:走开啦...Go away...
I would not say it's impolite in this context. But, yes, mostly it's quite impolite, so we have many words to take the place of 走开. We seldom use it to those you're not familiar with.

March 20, 2020 at 6:44 AMHi there,
First, about dictation, we have the exercise like this is to (1) let students try their best to listen to the sound of each word and (2) to recognize the characters of the target vocabulary. So, how to learn the correct dictation, first of all, you need to listen carefully to each sentence. And try to figure out each word in your mind. If there's any word that you can't figure out by its sound, go check it out and find out what it means.
Secondly, try to memorize the shape of the character. Try if you can say it when looking at the Chinese characters only without the help of pinyin and English. You might wonder, how is it possible to memorize all the characters. Try the following link: https://hanziyuan.net/ The website tells people how Chinese characters evolve and what do each part of the character means. With this, it might be easier for you to memorize the looking of each character.
Last but not least, whenever you listen to Chinese sentences, try to write their pinyin down and check if you're correct. Since ChinesePod is an online teaching website, we can't really make students write. Therefore, in dictation, you just need to type in pinyin and choose the correct character.
By the way, if you really want to know how to write, this website http://bishun.shufaji.com/ might help.
