I believe another German pianist, 拜厄/Ferdinand Beyer is also well known in China. Many people start to play piano with his etudes.

So glad to know we have many music lovers here. A 吉他 lesson is sure a brillant idea for new topic. I still remember the time when I was in a symphony orchestra of my university and that interesting experince of being a percussion player.

Yeah, you are right, they are very experienced on that. From some point, sometimes they also play a role as a double agent 双重间谍, for students and for school, or an undercovered gossip queen. :)

The formal title of this job position is 宿舍管理员. Here is a Chinese web page for anyone who has interest to know more detail about this position. http://baike.baidu.com/view/12370420.htm?fr=aladdin

老马,thanks for your above feedback. This culture based series is bit more challenging than other intermediate lessons. I will try to find some pictures to help our poddies to identify those culture stuff in Chinese university campus, such as 热得快, 电磁炉, 泡热水, etc. Hope it could get your question answered.

宿管阿姨 is usually a mid-aged woman who sits in doorway and keep an eye on entrance like you said. Her other main resposibilities are information collection and release, open and close the entrance on time, switch on and off the electric brake on time, report the building status to school administrator, etc. Usually a dormitory building has one 宿管阿姨, sometimes a mid-aged couple. Students call them 阿姨 or 师傅 if the doorman is male.

I think it's referring to paragraphing, keywords highlighting or leave space between paragraphs, some common imperfections when some Chinese people write English emails.

见到 means to actually meet someone (in person). 认识 is to know someone, and probably they never meet each other in person. For example,

虽然我们在网上认识了很久,但我还没有实际见到过你。

Although we've known each other for a long time on internet, I actually never meet you in person.

我认识aprillardie,但从来没有见到她本人。

I know aprillaridie, but never meet her in person.
