When we created a new lesson, we bear in mind the learning goals of that particular lesson. The 66 characters series is indeed produced for very beginning students who would opt for learning the traditional system later on. Over the years, the ChinesePod learning community has gained a significant number of traditional-characters-learning students and the numbers continue to grow. Yes, traditional characters are replaced by simplified ones for mass education purpose, but this does not erase the fact that the Chinese writing system has a history and that traditional characters have dominated that history until the 20th century. From our standpoint, we certainly care about teaching the language from a practical standpoint, but we also hope to teach the traditional form as this is a crucial part of the Chinese culture.

That's a good question! 咱么 and 我们 are in fact interchangeable sometimes. When you include the person you are speaking to, you can use either 咱么 or 我们. However, if you do not include the person you are speaking to, only 我们 can be used. So, if you are calling your friend saying that you and your partner is arriving, you cannot say 咱么快到了 since the listener (your friend) is not included in this case.

Great question! You cannot use "Ji sui" for anything but people and animal. For different types of objects, we have a simple and useful question phrase, "duo (多） shao （少） + nian （年)?" for beginning learners. For example:
How old is this building? 这大厦 （楼）多少年？
How old is this company? 这公司多少年
How old is this vase？ 这花瓶多少年？
How old is this painting? 这画多少年？
I say "simple" because this use is quite restricted. It will not really work if you are engaged in a conversation in which you are discussing about some history and historical origin of an object. In that context, you will need more sophisticated vocabulary and sentence structure to carry across the simple questioning of "how old".
