August 8, 2016 at 6:32 AMBasketball and baseball are also hugely popular here so the courts are usually packed and I see people in the gym doing functional training for these sports. It's common to see people swigging protein shakes and creatine in the gym, and after-work hours it's usually hard to find a free machine.

August 8, 2016 at 6:26 AMWell in general Americans are much more into going to the gym than most nations, especially in California etc. In Taiwan at least, I find lots of people go to the gym, although bodybuilding is much rarer. Women don't particularly like too much muscle, preferring the k pop artists thinner physique. That's just my opinion. What I find is that people are much more active here than in the Uk. The parks and schools are always full of ever aged person doing some form of exercise after dinner. I often see older men doing an impressive amount of pull-ups!

August 6, 2016 at 1:09 PMFor now, check out previous employee John Pasden's Chinese grammar wiki.
In my experience I've found that in written form, most natives are not sure which one to use but it's something all Chinese students learn when starting out. I'll have a look next week for chinesepod specific lessons where we deal with the differences.

August 3, 2016 at 2:45 AMThis is what I use on my phone. Tabs is the app from Ultimate guitar. And inside of tabs you can play "Guitar Pro" files. Great for visual learners. For a newbie, I would really recommend this new app called Yousician. It's like real life Guitar hero, where your phone uses the microphone to detect correct pitch and timing. Check out this demo of a pro playing.

August 3, 2016 at 2:27 AMI found this image on Pinterest. Bow hairs look to be called 弓毛 gōngmáo, and the bow stick is called the 弓杆 gōnggān.

August 3, 2016 at 2:21 AM痠 is just a variant and both are acceptable to use in this situation. You can see one has the illness radical (痠), and the 酸 character for sour; sore has the alcohol radical.

August 2, 2016 at 3:39 AMSeems like there was a problem with the pinyin autogeneration. I've fixed it now.

August 2, 2016 at 3:17 AMSorry about that. It's possible the R/L lesson never got published since it was outside the scope of the SIR lessons. I'll see if we still have it.
