January 9, 2015 at 2:16 AMIn the context of Jenny's chat with David, 秒杀 miǎo shā meant an online flash/fire sale whereby the sale of goods goes within moments. The translation we used was seckill which comes from online gaming chat (specifically LOL), again meaning a rapid dispatch of an opponent, similar to pawnd (I don't play online games so I may get this terminology wrong ;)

January 7, 2015 at 2:06 PM@podcaster, I think you're right to practice on both. I do the majority on my 40min subway commute so the iOS app is my main weapon of choice. I wish they would add tone colours to it, but I believe they thought it would mess up the UI of the app since they already use colours for how well you remembered it.

January 7, 2015 at 2:04 PMI hope you're enjoying it. People look at me like i'm a wizard on the subway here, using my stylus to draw out characters quickly. I met the current Director of Skritter a few years ago and he was testing out a special 毛笔 máobǐ which allowed him to write as if doing calligraphy on the ipad. Needless to say, my mind was blown ;)
