November 10, 2015 at 3:37 AMI see you used a picture of Hou Yi from the popular game Smite. In fact, this game taught me an awful lot about the Chinese religion just by seeing the deities and looking up more information. A good pick for our ChinesePod gamer crowd that would like to learn a little bit more on the Chinese Polytheistic religion, or just have a game with that theme. Its function is nearly identical to the wildly-popular-in-China game DOTA. Perhaps the next "Gamer Culture" lesson can focus on the popular games in China like Dota and Starcraft.

November 10, 2015 at 3:03 AMThe vocabulary list has jiéguǒ for "to bear fruit." Is this not the word for "result" and it should be jiēguǒ? Or is jiéguǒ also acceptable for "to bear fruit"?

November 1, 2015 at 4:32 PMGreat lesson! I don't know how I've made it to 3000+ vocabulary and relatively good comprehension without EVER realizing this structure existed! I love Qing Wen and how they take the language and make super simple lessons out of stuff that we would never think of as English speakers.

October 24, 2015 at 3:30 AMInteresting. The DLI Headstart 2 program teaches 要不 in "別動,要不我就開槍了。” I've always been aware of these translation "errors" in the program, but I'm glad you touched on this.

December 20, 2015 at 3:17 AMI 100% agree with this. I'm fluctuating between intermediate/upper-intermediate lessons here and I still don't know the difference between these, no matter how many conversations I take notes on.
