It's truly a legend (in our minds, at least). If you're lucky, JP of SpanishPod will even do his 500 decibel 'fuwuyuanr' yell for your entertainment.

January 9, 2008 at 7:21 AMhi alexyzye, You can also use 对 (duì) here, but the tone of 冲着 (chōngzhe) is stronger, more intense. Very suitable for someone sneezing into one's food.

January 8, 2008 at 10:05 AMhi heruilin, 身材 (shēncái) means figure, physique. 条件 (tiáojiàn) can include someone's physique, but is more referring to the qualifications a person has, or how a person meets certain conditions, i.e. 他是个很有条件的长跑运动员。 Tā shì ge hěn yǒu tiáojiàn de chángpǎo yùndòngyuán. and that would be because: 他腿很长、可以跑很长时间等等 tā tuǐ hěn cháng, kěyǐ pǎo hěn cháng shíjiān děngdeng,

January 8, 2008 at 9:35 AMhi scotts23, 遮阳帽 (zhēyángmào) is the welder mask thingy for blocking the sun 自行车披肩 (zìxíngchē pījiān) is the sorta cape thing they wear that has the sleeves, to block the sun. 袖套 (xiùtào) are the ones that the ladies just pull up like gloves to cover their arms. The measure word for fan is: 一把扇子 (Yī bǎ shànzi )

January 8, 2008 at 5:42 AMhi without, The V + 得出来 (verb + de chūlai) structure already implied the 'ability' to perform/carry out the action. So you can use 能 (néng) in combination, or not. The meaning is basically the same.

January 10, 2008 at 2:05 AMhi darylk, Actually it is the 不 (bù) that changes to second tone when in front of another word that is fourth tone. However, in the written pinyin it is always kept as its original tone. It's only in the spoken Chinese that the tone changes. So, written 不用 'bùyòng' but pronounced: 'búyòng'
