February 21, 2008 at 6:24 AMhi, Jhmulk 内 and 里 both have the meaning of "inside" "in". however , there are some differences. 内 has the meaning related to the content of something. 里 is something related to position. For example: 内容 nei4 rong2 -Content 内幕 nei4 mu 4- The true information about something, that not many people know 内裤 nei4 ku4- Briefs 里面 li3 mian4- inside 柜子里 gui4 zi li3- inside of the cabinet 书包里 shu1 bao1 li3- in the bag in some situation, either 里 or 内 could be used to express a same meaning. 屋子里 wu1 zi li3 = 屋子内 wu1 zi nei4

February 21, 2008 at 9:01 AMI'm not agree with Aert said. the example could be changed into: : wǒmen shì běiffāngrén, nǐmen shì nánfāngrén, wǒmen dōu shì zhōngguórén "we are northerners, you are southerners, we are all Chinese. That's the right expression too. definitelly.
