April 15, 2013 at 4:52 AMokay interesting. Now I have another question. In English, sometimes we say "I want to....", to express desiring to do something but NOT NECESSARILY doing it.
For example, "I want to fire that guy, I don't like him". Sentences like this are sometimes 有点夸张, and the guy often doesn't get fired.
It seems that in Chinese, 要 means "going to" or "actually want to". So for the English example gave "I want to fire that guy, I don't like him", would it be better to use 想 instead of 要？ Or would this have the exact same meaning in Chinese?

In the lesson, it's translated as "I'm going to fire him", but...I'm uncertain.
What would happen if a 了(le) were to be added to the end of it?
