Great lesson.  Without a doubt, this was the most annoying thing about living in China. At first I tried to be nice to people if they didn't speak Chinese but before too long, I would avoid these people like the plague. You feel bad being rude, but people should take a hint. I would be direct and say "Wo bu xihuan shou yingwen, shou yingwen hen wu liao de" and it didn't make a difference. The reason this situation occurs way too often is because there seems to be a consensus among many Chinese people that Westerns either don't have the intellect or discipline to learn Chinese or that we're not really serious about studying Chinese. That, plus a lot of people want free English lessons

hey wuz up ChinesePod.  Can you all do some lessons on Jewish holidays?  For example Passover, which is coming up soon, Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, Channukah, etc.  When I lived in Zhengzhou, everybody would get really drunk and party on Christmas day, but not as much on New Year's, it was interesting.  Thanks again, peace.

hey wuz up jenny.  "Going postal" is essentially acting crazy, flipping out, but this includes a wide range of behavior.  For example, in the movie Jerry Macguire, when Tom Cruise makes a scene in the office would be an example of going postal in a minor sense.  A more dramatic example would be the guy from Office Space who burns down the building because everyone kept taking his stapler and moving his cubicle.  Hope this helps, great lesson. You all should do a lesson on him suing the company in court or, as an alternative ending, Lao Wang going "postal" and driving his car into the office or something along those lines.  Alright, peace.

I just wanted to say to Jenny and Ken that you two are doing an amazing job, and I wish I was able to stop in to say wuz up when I was in Shanghai back in May. On a serious note though, we all need to do our part to put pressure on the Myanmar government to stop the brutality and human rights violations that are taking place there. Stay up everybody and good luck with studying, peace.
