Sorry, I'll stop talking about Chicago and get back to the city at hand. I don't know why Detroit gets such a bad rap. The downtown area is pretty nice, and it has a pretty decent waterfront. And of course, Windsor is right across the water!

Gesang...I'm 36 years young and have lived in Chicago for 13 years - I went to enough bars in my 20's to suffice for the rest of my life ;) I knew there were a lot of bars here, just didn't realize Chicago has the most in the U.S., per capita.

Good to know RJ....I live here and didn't even know that! Sad to say that I don't make it out to the bars much anymore.

Grancher, speaking of Chicago, I'd love a lesson on my beautiful 芝加哥 !

ensiform, I'm not sure your reasons for learning Chinese, but if you ever plan on going to China, or conversing with Chinese, you'll hear that sweet "ng" sound a lot. It's just a simple and polite way of agreeing or saying yes. Personally, I love it and it always sounds nice to my ears. If you plan on learning Chinese for the long haul, you better get used to it :)

light487, the QW's don't come with a PDF transcript...I agree, it would be nice. However, with most of the newer ones, Connie provides the dialogue in the comments section (in this one, it's the first comment at the top).

That's cool cockfighter, whatever you need to tell yourself to justify taking chickens out of their natural environment and forcing them to fight. There is a big difference between that and harvesting chickens for human consumption. But this is not the place for this conversation. CPod stands for ChinesePod, not CockfighterPod.

There's always been debate on what the oldest sport in history is...some say wrestling, some say bocce, some say others. Personally, I don't think forcing animals to fight each other (in any form) can be considered a sport.

Could someone please explain the difference between 语 (yǔ) and 文 (wén)? For instance, what's the difference between 英语 (Yīngyǔ) and 英文 (Yīngwén)? Thanks.
