May 30, 2007 at 6:47 AMLester... your chords are close, but no cigar. (I'm surprised the CPod people didn't correct you!) Nice job on the singing, btw. You both have very sweet voices that fit the style of this piece very well. Was that your harmony in the end or the standard harmony? In any case, it was a very nice touch.

May 29, 2007 at 7:55 AMBTW, are these free services? I can't imagine that they are. I also shudder to think of the size of a Chinese telephone book. (But do they have the Yellow Pages in China??? Enquiring minds want to know! :)

May 27, 2007 at 7:51 PMI just tried, but no luck (got a busy signal). I was torn between asking for Chinesepod's number vs. Jenny's number! :) (Ken and Jenny missed a big opportunity here to direct the 100,000+ listeners to all call asking for CPod's number!!!) For Bazza... from CP's Number: [+86-21] 6385-9599 Country Code = 86 City Code = 21

May 17, 2007 at 3:36 AMLeiGaoRui - CPod could implement a "consolidation" lesson however they wanted (and yes, it doesn't address all the problems people talked about and does not fit 100% into the self-contained podcast model that CPod follows so religiously), but it would address the speed issue directly. Lantian... I was going to chastise you for being verbose, but instead thanks are in order! :)

May 16, 2007 at 7:20 PMOk, here's an idea for an intermediate lesson that should be possible at this point. You have developed much vocabulary at the Newbie and Elementary levels. How about an intermediate lesson incorporating all that vocab at a "normal" clip (which means fast. Oh, and don't forget loud! :). A kind of consolidation intermediate lesson?! Now, if that is not a bridge, I don't know what is. This type of lesson removes one of the dimensions of learning (i.e. new vocabulary) to focus on the speed issue.

May 15, 2007 at 11:38 AMTheLadsmith... I recommend Yale's Chinese 130 website. They have a Chinese usage dictionary that explains the difference between zai4 and you4 extensively. Tip of the iceberg!

May 5, 2007 at 9:49 PMI haven't listened to the lesson yet, but I love the music stuff! (I even liked that lesson where Jenny was humming to annoy her friend... there's something about music that soothes even the savage cpod junkie.) :)
