Amber...Although I will greatly miss your presence at Chinesepod, I also admire you for your courage and your faith...courage, because it must have been a painstakingly difficult decision to leave behind all those with whom you crossed paths in China...and faith, because you trust in the wisdom of life to paint in the pieces that are now perhaps missing or gray.

All the best!

I don't believe it is the diet so much as the constant walking that keeps Chinese people slimmer than their westerrn counterparts.  I have seen many Chinese girls come to Canada, basically eat the same diet as in their homeland, yet start to balloon in just a few months. God love the car !!!!!!

Loved the lesson.

This is by far the best instructional Chinese language learning site I have encountered, and I have searched far and wide.

Keep up the great work, Jenny and ChinesePod team.

Does anyone know how many non-East Asian heritage foreign speakers of Mandarin exist in the world.

Hey guys...let's shock everyone and have a podcast on Halifax, Nova Scotia...Canada. Why bother? Where is that you say? Just an oasis nestled inside one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. The top city in North America in terms of universities per capita, education level per capita, and dance bars per capita. Voted one of the top 10 places to live in North America, as well a historic and naval tour de force. We have hosted the world G8 summit, world junior hockey championships, bid for the Commonwealth games and recently hosted the Rolling Stones, Eagles, ZZTop, and Elton John. We house the world's second largest natural harbour (only surpassed by Sydney Australia) 加油 加油 加油.

I hated this podcast.....and loved it!!!!!! When speakers C and D spoke, at first I couldn't understand a word they were saying. After playing and re-playing their lines over and over, and staring at the dialogue sheet trying to convince myself they were actually saying these words...I was ready to jump off the nearest bridge. Some combination of their speed, accent, regionality, chopped-off words, etc just made it so daunting. The something miraculous happened! When I went back amd listened to the "normal" Chnesepod dialogs (even in Advanced), the language seemed so much more clear and understandable. Ahhhh....love set in !!!!! Somehow trying to train my ear to the difficult regional speakers made the usual Chinespod more accessible. We definitely need more of these type of lessons with authenticate regional speech!!!
