June 30, 2008 at 12:59 PM中国俗话说”一个和尚有水喝,两个和尚挑水喝,三个和尚没水喝”,还有另一个类似俗语叫”一个中国人是条龙,三个中国人是条虫”,可见两个都奚落中国人不太善于团队合作的缺点。不瞒你说,我也有时觉得这些说法在某种程度上是对的。让我以运动项目为例来说明一下理由。我看大家一致认为,中国运动员一般在乒乓球羽毛球跳水跳栏等个人比赛项目上会发挥最大力量。
但是与此相反,集体比赛的队员越多中国队的成绩表现越差。比如说,排球篮球等五六个人打的运动打得还算可以,不过九个人打的棒球,十一个人踢的足球的成绩都不怎么样。而且中国几乎没有英式橄榄球队,一支队要十五名选手,好像是太多了。现在中国女排无疑算是一个世界强队,可是如果像过去那样九个人打的话,中国队的表现会怎么样?不一定像现在这么出色。
很可惜中国传统的”人海战术”在体育方面不大起作用。

I'm a guy who easily believes in a textbook, so you don't correct your textbook. The meaning of 当老师 is situational, pls look at the following examples. Sorry for my insufficient explanation.
他干什么? What does he do?
他当老师。 He is a teacher.
他毕业后干什么? What is he going to do after graduation?
他当老师。 He is going to become a teacher.
干什么 (gan4 shen2 me)
毕业后 (bi4 ye4 hou4)

念书 (nian4 shu1) study, read a book (informal)

July 5, 2008 at 1:39 AMI’ve seen some exam questions of Japanese Language Aptitude Test (日语能力考试) before, and found it very difficult to answer them even for me, a native Japanese. They were not only difficult, but also very tricky. I felt that was a kind of IQ test rather than a language proficiency test. The same goes for HSK?
