May 25, 2012 at 11:19 AM真的？很有意思 。。。我还没听说 。。。你说的‘人情’ 情况我自己还没碰到。。。对我来说老板的人情不是那么有好的。。。但是我们的公司是一家合资企业的公司。。。就是说外资企业跟中国政府合作的。。。工作情况比较标准。。。

May 25, 2012 at 7:16 AM。。。在我国中有的事假是薪金的也有的不是薪金的。。。要看情况。。。但是在我在中国里打工的公司事假一般都不薪金的。。。有特别情况比如说出生的话还是家庭死亡的话就可以申请薪金的事假但如果你只需要几天忙着个人的事就不会期望公司给你薪金。。。

I live in Guangzhou where Cantonese and Mandarin are forever jangling in the air and in the markets you often have to ask '会讲普通话吗'？'hui jiang putonghua ma?' - but it gets complicated because although I try to speak Mandarin a lot with my my wife, she comes from Hunan so she speaks Hunanhua - which is a different language as opposed to a dialect - with family and friends from there or when we visit there and then if we go back to the actual hometown during holiday times they speak the 'local dialect' or 土话 there which is also very different from Mandarin and Hunanhua and in both cases they just ignore me ... which was really difficult at first but now it gives me a good excuse to do other stuff ...

May 23, 2012 at 8:27 AM洋垃圾 - just a joke in reference to a news story coming out of Beijing over the last week where 外国人 have been behaving VERY badly causing a CCTV 主持人 to call for “清扫洋垃圾” - local social media websites have (apparently) been twittering away about this - mostly for, some against - and maybe '洋垃圾' has the potential to become a viral meme ... check out BBC News in Chinese ...
