john is there a special ruling in placing the spaces when writing down the pinyin version? For example... first thing coming up to my mind... 加油 is "jiayou" or "jia you". Sorry for troubling... studying this lesson while stumbling in the phrase "ge you libi" (pros and cons) first i thought: "youli means "favorable", so why they detached youli and attached libi?". Then I found out that "libi" means "pros and cons"... and i thought: why they didn t attach all the phrase?

So, a bit confused, i was wondering how sinologists when writing pinyin make clear that in this context 利 has to be attached to following word and not to the previous peace or viceversa...

a chinese friend just told me

润肤霜 runfushuang, moisturizer (run= moist; fu= skin; shuang=cream)

or

滋润霜 zirunshuang (but actually this i didn t really catch what it s...)

ight487 it was a 3 characters word if i good remember and referred to an object (mainly) girls use to moisten hands or part of the body. it was a noun not a verb...

as for the lotion one question: i remember a roommate referring to lotion used to use a word with the character 润, "run" in. Which means "moist". but can t find this word anymore
