June 12, 2011 at 5:55 AMI have a feeling that the reason John originally emigrated to the East (China,) was because of a fascination for things like QiGong, TaiChi, TCM, Chan/Zen.
But then married a hot wife and got rich off this job instead.
I think you have been disillusioned with Taoist philosophy/spirituality, but I think that you have come to believe that these myriad liars and phonies are really what make UP that philosophy and spirituality. People like Jenny might even encourage you to believe that living a 'normal' life is really as 'Taoist' as it gets.
I wonder if you have ever discovered the genuine practice of taost Chan (禅 I think). It's difficult to learn, (and especially difficult to unlearn, if you have 'learned' it from japaneze 'zen' blockheads'), ...but if you did, (or if you do...) you might find some time for yourself to retreat and discover the gift of a genuine enlightenment. I can go into more detail on this genuine 'chan' method if you want.
but anyways, I wonder if my life is going to go the same way. come to China expecting spiritual and philosophical enlightenment, and end up with my wife and (..job...)... squeeze out a baby... live a happy (happy relative to OTHER people, which doesn't say very much) but still unrealized life.
but I don't know if I can bear to leave this girl who loves me to retreat to some shitty hole in wudang for a year or two.. ugh...

June 12, 2011 at 2:47 AMwell, besides from being apart of a superior socio-cultural background, ACTUALLY I am studying the philosophical tradition of german transcendental idealism, and then working on incorporating ancient daoist principles/metaphysics to establish a general metaphysic on which I can build a general philosophical system, BY WHICH I can establish the foundations for a New World Order, in which a wholly integrated, globalized World Culture will gradually turn from a Material-based way of life (ie guaging quality of life by the Material,) to a more Spiritual-based way of life, (ie guaging quality of life by the non-Material.)
So you know what why don't you keep your remarks to yourself baba

June 9, 2011 at 4:30 AMI can't stand the tang xuanzang character. It's a shame this story wasn't more influenced by taoist principles. Ive always fantasized about having a whole lot of 'yaoqi' as the quiet loner on the dark side of the force. I would definately be a monster and kill xuanzang in this story. I guess I would have to be his friend, first...

June 7, 2011 at 7:37 AMIs this the woman I saw on Beijing evening 'news' a couple years ago?
Isn't it embarrassing that it's her interviewing potentially important and/or interesting people? hahahaha she's such a ditz
It says alot that her 'opinions' can be easily comprehended at this intermediate level.
"I ran into a company that said, 'ok, we can't give people cookies'" hahaha please
I think Jenny is actually poking fun, yeah?

June 7, 2011 at 2:58 AMever since I made a comment about lazy mistakes in the lesson PDF's, I have been encountering numerous (numerous!) bug's in the PDF's ! (i.e., instead of the pinyin in the translation, there are crazy awful characters that make no sense.)
Somebody needs to fix all of these ! -and I expect that this is coincidence! thank you !

June 6, 2011 at 1:37 AMoh... the lesson.. isn't in chinese.... it's .. not... a lesson...
...chinese mythological creatures: lion and dragon. Makes you realize how utterly uncreative the chinese mind is. Which is pretty interesting from a socio-cultural perspective.
