I just did lesson now as Zheng Jie and Li Na reach the Aussie Open Semi Final. Good chances for a Chinese finalist, and good luck to them.

I've seen Zheng Jie play doubles a couple of times at Wimbledon including when she won the doubles in title in 2006; she's a strong player and similar in style to Henin so should be a good game.

The extended vocabulary gives words for Hurricane and Typhoon, is there a difference between the usage of the two in Chinese, or are they different words for the same thing?

Nice to hear about charitable work in China. I am not in China, but I just talked to a Shanghai friend of mine online, and she is interested in Bean; maybe Bean will get a new member!

It would also be good to have a few Chinesepod lessons on charity, volunteering, and community topics.

I had a few Chinese friends in University in the UK who were called up by their parents to wish them happy Chinese birthday, and had no idea it was.

Are Chinese calendar birthdays celebrated much in China now?
