May 19, 2009 at 4:30 AMAs always, Chinesepod always comes through with usefull lessons. I like the repetition of phrases in these lessons, as it helps me to retain the chinese characters more easily when I follow along. Definately, repetition is the law of memory for me.

You and I are"in the same boat" and feel like "a fish out of water". I've been in Florida a long time and I still don't enjoy fishing.
Great Lesson!

February 2, 2009 at 6:08 AMI was thinking of asking the same thing as duuren about numbering the pages. I guess we are on the same page! I also print mine up.

January 28, 2009 at 5:46 AMSorry, I do dumplings the easy way. I just simply go down to my local Chinese store and buy the frozen ones. It was a revelation to me when I started shopping in Chinese groceries here in Florida,of all the fun variety the Chinese have in their stores.

January 25, 2009 at 1:18 AMI learn a lot from the input from everyone writing in English/pinyin/Chinese characters. I really appreciate the extra effort many of you put into doing that for the benefit of others. It helps me a lot! Thanks to all of you!

December 18, 2008 at 4:11 PMI agree with our Chinesepod listeners- I love learning about the culture and history and learning songs makes memorization really easy. There is hardly any dialogue I haven't immensely enjoyed.

November 24, 2008 at 5:32 AMI love ChinesePod! Even if I wasn't interested in learning Chinese, I would still listen to it because I just derive so much enjoyment from the fun content of the dialogues. A wonderful peek into Chinese culture, especially for those of us who have not yet had the opportunity to visit China. Ken, you're the best! Thousands of thanks for starting ChinesePod! One of my favorites was your lilttle story about your personal experience with Qing wen way back in like #25.
Posted on: Why are You Studying Chinese?
June 4, 2009 at 4:44 AMI was very ill several years ago and went for 针灸(accupuncture)and became fascinated with how different Chinese medicine is from western medicine. I discovered through this experience and my friendship with my Chinese doctor that I was interested in the challenge of learning Chinese. I already speak Spanish, and when a friend found Cpod, I was overjoyed! So Chinese is more of a hobby for me at the moment. Unfortunately, we live in a city where we don't have that many chinese people so I don't get to practice speaking it very often.
