August 9, 2016 at 9:41 PMWould you consider making this video free/shareable? I've been getting a few people together for a language exchange in Cambridge (UK) and would love to share this lesson.

July 12, 2016 at 7:22 PMExcellent lesson, a few connecting words go a long way to making the conversation fluid once you have the basic sentence structure.

November 8, 2015 at 7:41 PMI've found that to be an issue too. The marking for the diction is inflexible, it's typically the only exercise where I lose marks. Words like ㄦ/一 have no consonant sound and melt into their neighbour words, so its very difficult to tell if they are there or not.

October 25, 2015 at 10:38 PMThis lesson got me thinking, what are typical paid annual leave allowances in Taiwan and China? And number of public holidays too.

October 25, 2015 at 10:04 PMIt's interesting to see videos of the lessons. I like how you can now discuss some more details of the writing, for example. The video also holds my attention, whereas when listening to audio, I tend to be doing something else at the same time. In addition, i think it is helpful to see the mouth motions and lip read while learning. On the other hand, it makes me worried that I'll miss out on something if I just listen to the audio. I also like the light hearted delivery, a lot of language learning is unavoidably tedious.

September 27, 2015 at 6:18 PMGreat lesson, really useful construction. It got me thinking about a couple of things.
1. 你的钢琴 - I would normally omit the 的 in bold in this structure
你钢琴弹得真不错 and 你中文说的好流利喔。Is this incorrect? I think of 钢琴 as the object as opposed to a possession of the subject (你)
2. I recently encountered a a triple second tone. How do you deal with that?
eg 门口有两匹马。(匹 is 1st tone cause I'm from Taiwan)
3. I've always thought of 不客氣 as literally "don't hold back"

January 15, 2017 at 5:41 PMI am particularly impressed by the new format and content of this lesson. I think the use of a mini-series really helps to address relevant topics in a bit more depth without losing the modularity, which is crucial if you plan on using the content. The content is difficult for this level, but as a British born Taiwanese, this is the exact type of language that trips me up. The formal, legal, and literary vocabularly is difficult, but is also essential for daily life.
