May 11, 2012 at 9:11 AMWow. It is like you're reading my mind. I actually used Part 1 of this lesson last week, and made my first phone restaurant reservation. And indeed, after getting through the first part of the transaction, I was not clear that they were asking for my phone number. So, this is "just-in-time" learning. (btw the dinner for 四位 sì wèi was yummy - good beer, good food.)

(currently says " (In Taiwan, every soldier has to become a soldier.) " - should be "every male""

改变主意 gǎibiàn zhǔyi
As it happens, same thing in French - "changer d'idée".

May 11, 2012 at 9:36 AMOur first subway line 1 地铁1号线 (dìtiě yī hàoxiàn) just opened in Suzhou a couple of weeks ago. Shiny and new. And, as as far as I can tell, instantly popular. Runs more frequently and later hours than the bus.
