If there are three or more parties, would one say “dou ying”?

I note the apology phrases that used “this child” rather than use “my child”. It is putting a little distance between you and the child, and it comes naturally when your child is misbehaving.

One term that keeps popping up in Chinese movies with english translation is "bullying".  You're bullying me, you're a bully.  It's in the martial arts films and family dramas.  Any idea what word they are using?

That's what I heard, too, for what it's worth: "Then I'll See", as in "maybe we'll send it."

First, I'm glad that in my mind I translated yi1fu as "shirts" because it proceeded "kuzi" .  I give myself full credit for that one, given Jenny's explanation of yifu being clothes on the upper body.

Second, I can never quite understand all the words in the Elementary dialogue until Jenny repeats them, meaning that out one billion or so mandarin speakers, I can understand precisely one.

Going to side with the Chinese on layers.  I put on qiu1 ku4 three days ago and they aren't coming off until March.

Thanks, Bob!  That looks like a lot of work, and the vocab download from chinesepod has never worked for me.
