I'm just in it for the love of the beautiful game. I'm not at all nationalistic, which is good, because there's no point rooting for team USA anyway. In typical North American fashion, however, I will root for the underdog most of the time and hope that the Netherlands and Argentina, especially, lose. I'm not big on "donas" of any type, prima, Mara, or otherwise.

I think it would be supremely cool for an African team to win it all, but....well, we can dream, right? I have a soft spot for Mexico, too, but that's another pipe dream.

Yeah, I hope that's how you say it! ;) In American English anyway, it's common to say that on team "handed" another the/a loss...

If you're planning the sustained night-after-night World Cup viewing we are, coffee will be essential...

我记得法国队输给了意大利队因为齐达内没管自己。

Wǒ jìde Fǎguóduì shū gěile Yìdàlìduì yīnwèi Qídánèi měi guǎn zìjǐ.

I remember the French team lost to the Italian team because Zidane lost control of himself.

我在中国看见了一些从韩国来的成人矫正牙齿。可能在中国比韩国这样做便宜点。

I'd suggest avoiding the Expo during the first week of October, as the 1st is a national holiday, and during the end of the month, as I imagine there will be more traffic in the Expo's last days.

The first and last weeks of October are designated "peak days" and, theoretically speaking, tickets for those days are no longer available. http://en.expo2010.cn/a/20100410/000001.htm October 22 should be OK, though! Have fun!!
