哈哈! I've heard it called "dirty Southern Chinese" and I love it! So much easier on the ears than the northern 儿话, in my opinion! Guess I can't be a purist, then...

I've heard some Hunanese mix up /f/ and /h/ as well. You can hear it a little bit in the dialogue, the second time the lovely voice actress from Hunan says the name of her province.

I totally thought of doing that!! But then I'd have to deal with the responsibility of feeding the crickets...I can't even keep a house plant alive, so...I dunno.

Well, this parrot is at a pet shop, so if you're ever in Shanghai I'm sure I can get you the address! ;) This parrot did sound pretty great; I may have to go check it out sometime myself!

Just yesterday, a friend of mine was telling me about a parrot in a pet shop she visited that (of course) greets customers with "欢迎光临!“ More interestingly, the parrot also spoke Shanghainese: "晚饭吃过了吗?" that is, yǎve qiē gū lē fā? and also "你很漂亮," nóng láo hǎokue!

And Tal, that wouldn't be the first time I've been accused of having a big head...although, in actuality, all the headphones in the studio keep sliding off because my head is not large enough...

Is it just me, or do those birdcages look like earrings? Wonder how heavy they are. I would totally rock those, with the right outfit.
