Then that 成语is a perfect complement to this lesson: http://chinesepod.com/lessons/losing-and-forgetting

I was terribly disappointed not to meet such a fervent supporter of all things ChinesePod, xiao_liang! I hope your trip was as wonderful as it sounds in your journal, and look forward to the next time you're in town! It seems like you've got a long-term relationship with China in the making!

At least they didn't break your guitar. http://www.guzer.com/videos/united-breaks-guitars.php

Still, you might write a song about it! Perhaps a bilingual version??

Yeah, I'm the SweeTarts hoarder in the office!!! Right. ;)

As to their Chinese name, I dunno...小小甜涩, maybe? A stab in the dark, at best...

Oh, absolutely. I read an article recently about a retired gentleman in the 'Jing who rented apartments, renovated them into several mini-apartments, based on the Japanese "pod hotel" concept, and re-rented out the units to the so-called "ant population" for less than 500RMB/unit.

Expat apartments are not exclusive to Shanghai, though. Other cities I've lived and traveled in on the mainland also have exorbitantly (IMO) priced homes for rent. You really can pay as much or as little as you want for rent in China! Of course, generally speaking, you pay for what you get.

No, no, don't get rid of it!!! Accents are great! They add so much flavor to a language! ...just one person's opinion, I guess!

Prices are insane! The very cheapest start around 10,000RMB and range well over 50,000RMB per month. Most places seem to be in the 15,000-35,000 range. I always wonder, who is renting these places? And WHY?
