May 21, 2008 at 3:09 PMKen, I enjoyed this 对话 dialog at the opening. As an Elementary who has had some difficulty learning, I prefer the way you and Jenny ease into the translation and meanings, with a lot of English context, though this one was very engaging. But I really liked the authentic sound of the accent (topped off by the trilling sound the hawker made) - and I was surprised I could pick out all of their words. I hope you will have a chance to do more of those.

May 8, 2008 at 4:32 AMsfrr, Hunan Restaurant in SF - do you remember the huge banner across the dining room that said "We use no MSG"? (没有未经 mei2you3wei4jing1) . They actually had a parking lot in North Beach. This was right before Chinese food started getting fusion-ized, and it was slightly yuppie and trendy. We liked the 麻婆豆腐 (ma2po2dou4fu) - but that is a Sichuan dish!

May 6, 2008 at 5:04 PM@azerdocmom, it is a cute video - your Mom is very charming... I actually had to "lol"... In terms of Chinese language, I find the way she uses tones quite evocative. Happy Mothers' Day (2nd Sunday in May - USA)!
