August 8, 2007 at 4:14 PMAs a big fan of Bruce Lee's (李小龍) movies and martial arts teachings I can say that Dan is quite correct about the names. also for anyone that may be interested in some quick facts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Lee I found the physical feats to be quite fascinating

August 8, 2007 at 3:10 PMa nice lesson indeed and after subscribing to CPod for about 2 weeks I was actually able to translate this one for myself. However, at this point being able to actually say it and have someone understand what I'm saying is another hurdle. CPod is the best tool I have come across and I know it will help me tremendously when I start my first Mandarin class at university at the end of the month. 谢谢

July 30, 2007 at 9:07 PMI thought this was an interesting lesson. Aric stated that in America people order their own meals/dishes. While I find this to be true for the most part, I was lucky enough to have a father who learned Mandarin from Robert Tharpe at Yale's Institute of Far Eastern Languages while he was in the military. When I was growing up, if we went to a Chinese restaurant, he would order meals for the table and everyone just took a little bit of everything. To this day, I still prefer that, but it depends on who I happen to be eating with.

August 8, 2007 at 4:23 PM"Use only that which works, and take it from any place you can find it." Bruce Lee While he was talking about martial arts - I think it can apply to anything, and CPod is definitely something that works well, and I'm sure many poddies will agree
