在中国,我去过几次卡拉OK,我喜欢那里的气氛,可是在那里英文歌很差很旧很老套。他们都喜欢的歌比如"hotel california" 我本不喜欢可是几个啤酒以后我就开始唱了。我就跑掉了。

Also I have some questions to do with 麦霸

How to call somebody a hog in general? For example a remote control hog, video game hog and so on. I'm guessing you can't say 遥控器野猪 :)

And if anybody could let me know why Hotel California is so popular in China I would be able to sleep alot easier at night.

C'pod

How about doing an intermediate lesson on "The Monkey King"?

Staring...

猪八戒 Zhu Ba Jie - Pigsy

沙悟净 Sha Wu Jing- Sandy

玉龙三太子 Yu Long San Tai Zi - The Dragon King

唐三藏 Tang San zang - Tripitaka

and of course...

孙悟空 sun wu kong - Monkey King

这个古典的故事是一些中国的特色. 如果做这儿的主题人人一定喜欢啊!

Yea, for sure mate. I remember being a youngster back in Aus and coudn't wait til 5pm til monkey magic started. I'd be pretty happy if I stumbled across the series in a DVD shop over here in China.

The book "孙悟空 sun wu kong" or "西游记 xi you ji" is a pretty good read too.

No offence to anyone but in my opinion the Japanese version of the Monkey King (as pictured in my avatar) is much sweeter than the Monkey King you would find here on Chinese TV.

How about ducks and frogs? They both holla 瓜瓜Gua gua right? A little different than quack quack and ridip ridip. When I've asked people in the past about Chinese animal noises and they aren't too sure of it, it often results in 瓜瓜瓜!

Another sweet lesson. I'm no Dr. Phil but heres my suggestion for the lovestruck Romeo...

如果他怎么紧张他一定找这个女孩的号码.然后发信息给他.在那他会调请好一点. 在中国这是很有用的方法.

K-Rudd's Chinese is pretty impressive and I'm glad he got in but... I'm still more impressed by one of our past prime ministers "Bob Hawke" who made it into the guiness book of records for knocking back 2.5 pints of beer in 11 seconds! Should make a lesson on that ;)

Actually, the last thing I wrote could be an urban myth. But you can read a little about it on the bottom of this page... http://www.mengshan.jsol.net/sjh/Australia.htm

After hearing the lesson on New York I decided to use my telepathy to C-pod in the hope that Sydney would be next, and it seemed to work... sweeet mate! 我的老家离悉尼很进,一个城市"The Blue Mountains"那个地方很漂亮也干净. 如果你们在悉尼的话一定要去我的老家看看啊! Jenny 你去过了蓝山吗? Also, most of my students here are convinced we have giant mice running around town with big pockets. I get a grin on my face every time I hear the word "pocket mouse/rat" And FYI... Koala and kangaroo come from aboriginal language meaning... koala = no water (because they never drink water, just get their nutrients from gum leaves) Kangaroo = i don't know (because when settlers first arrived on the shores of Sydney, they asked the natives "whats that"? and in their own language replied "kangaroo" meaning... I don't know.
