John,

This is a great idea and looks to be an invaluable learning resource.  Any plans to make it available in traditional characters?

What is the mag-lev train called Chinese?  (The train high speed train from the Shanghai airport that Ken mentioned in the lesson.)

The supplementary vocab had:

醫生 yīshēng Doctor

護士 hùshì Nurse

Surprisingly, no mention of "pharmacist" - 藥劑師 yàojìshī

Are 藥劑師uncommon in China?

Anyone else not able to see the Dialogue due to default set-up to Traditional characters?  I can see the dialogue if I click to simplified.  Interestingly, I can see the characters in the Vocabulary tab without having to switch to simplified.  This seems to be an issue for both Shanghainese lessons.

Pete,

Thanks for another great show in the series.  I've learned so much from your program and the participation of fellow poetry-loving Poddies.  I never imagined I would ever develop any sort of appreciation for Classical Chinese poetry but you are definitely making it possible.

Great lesson!  I really enjoyed listening to Connie's recital of the poem and Pete's deconstruction.  Looking forward to the next poem.

Great topics on the show.  I always have a great interest in how pharmacies work in different places around the world (since my first career was in pharmacy) and I'm a Chinese Canadian so I can obviously relate to the discussion.

There used to be a program on the Chinese cable channel here in Canada about overseas Chinese.  Being the ignorant person that I was, I was always amazed about the different Chinese profiled every week from the many countries around the world:  Suriname, Africa, Trinidad, India etc.  Even here in Canada, I'm occassionally surprised to find Chinese in somewhere other than Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal.  I guess I shouldn't be.  The world is getting smaller.  At it's core, I guess it's about seeking to improve ones' lives.  I think we can all relate to that.

I enjoyed the free content on and off for a period of time before I committed to a premium membership.  To be honest, I don't even use too much of the premium content as I barely have enough time to listen to the podcasts alone.  However, when I do immerse myself in the website, I'm very appreciative of the community.  Furthermore, the CPod team is wonderful and I have enjoyed every lesson. Hence, I would likely renew my premium membership when the time comes.

The thing that annoys me most with CPod is the poor traditional character support, which, others have mentioned.  I'm not too sure that I would have taken the premium membership if there wasn't traditional character support.  And now, the support is getting poorer and poorer.  The lesson PDF's are not even coming into my feed.  What is the point of being able to subscribe to a traditional character lesson transcript PDF if it either (1) doesn't exist or (2) doesn't get sent on the feed?

Anyway, just wanted to vent my frustrations a little.  I'm other very happy with the CPod offerings and the different podcast themes.  The new video podcasts are also excellent.

CPod 加油。
