January 30, 2011 at 5:36 AMI enjoyed the lesson, thanks all. 等到 is quite a useful term. One question, you mentioned 直到 is rather formal... is there a way to differentiate in knowing when to use 等到 as opposed to 直到? Normally in these situations I opt for the less formal in all situations until I am familiar with the term and its usages, as knowing the fine line comes with experience. Any advice is appreciated :)

January 24, 2011 at 9:34 PM“语言倒还是小事” In this instance 倒 is meaning "on the contrary", right? I see this character more and more, and it always seems to be meaning something different with either third or fourth tone. Any chance we could get a 请问 on it? :)

January 19, 2011 at 10:01 PMI'm wondering about 可怜 in this situation too. Would it be more suitably used in a situation where two people are talking about another person who has just lost a loved one?

Also, is 头 the measure word for a variety of animals? I've never seen this used before. Thanks.

John said it can be used for people, so my guess is this describes body parts? That would be a sentence example I'm sure to remember ;)
Can it also describe someone who has a perky personality? Thanks guys, enjoyed the lesson!
