在美国一个人只有表现的问题，人势部不会允许别的方法。

August 3, 2010 at 1:48 AMMy B.A. didn't require a thesis. Do all subject areas in China require a thesis for graduation? The lesson banter suggests that they might. (just curious about the situation in China) I think there was even an option for M.S. candidates to take a comprehensive test rather than write a thesis, but if the option was available that wasn't how my advisor steered me. I don't think there is another option for Phd students.

July 30, 2010 at 6:27 AMI was just in 北京。 The locals I was with refered to the subway exits as C 门，etc. The basic station seemed to typically have A, B, C and D exits. Some large stations used up more of the letters, and a few stations re-used A, B, C and D for different lines (as far as I can tell). If you actually got as far as an exit, you would have already exited the turnstyles, and looking for a different exit was not easy, unless you were either willing to pay another subway fare, or knew the area.

July 1, 2010 at 7:16 AMI'm afraid I am on the nerd side, as well, but I am just now getting to the lesson. The topic certainly has possibilities.
Also, I usually try not to read English translations when I am copy pasting the transcript, but I noticed a line, "No problem! I'm wearing a disposable diaper." This has amuses me no end. Maybe, I will use this line to reassure the driver of my well being the next time the taxi I am in has a near miss.

June 30, 2010 at 9:58 AMThere is a lesson that names the planets. Its particular distraction is a rather lame guy is trying to get a young woman to go look at the stars with him. I think if you did a search of the lesson content for 水星， you would probably find it.
BTW, I don't agree with your comments about creation myths. I know how to talk about that kind of thing in English, so it seems like fair game for lesson content to me. Also, the creation myth in this lesson was one I didn't know of before. So, I figured I picked up some cultural knowledge, along with the anthropology.

Not only is the language pretty fancified, but it seems more is said through implication than directly. I am still looking forward to the day when I can understand something like this on the first hearing. 加油！
