October 23, 2012 at 4:10 PMThat was a really fun lesson. I was laughing as much as you guys were. John. You've been cracking me up for years. And Jenny and Connie... hilarious.

March 23, 2012 at 1:46 AMPersonally, I listen to the review track before I listen to the lesson, to get me primed for the vocabulary that will be used, that way I can focus on the way it's used, rather than trying so hard to follow the words.

April 30, 2010 at 7:08 AMToo bad we didn't get this question answered, but I just asked my Chinese teacher friend and she says that is correct. 你写的不对, would thus be, What you wrote is wrong.
"Hey, kid, I suggest you forget what you saw." 嘿, 小朋友, 我建议你忘记你看到的。

December 17, 2009 at 4:10 PMJust curious. jia in 美甲 is shown as 3rd tone. However in my oxford dictionary and in some pdf examples such as...剪指甲,指甲剪 it's shown as neutral. Any ideas?

November 20, 2008 at 1:13 PMMy 2 cents. I taught English in Russia, Turkey, Egypt and China. I taught Russian and Arabic in America. If I am eventually fluent in Chinese, it will be my 7th foreign language. I have 2 University language degrees and have been through many programs during my language progression. Chinesepod, Ken and Jenny are top notch teachers with an extremely effective language building blueprint. I have been bored by other programs before, and I moved on. If this isn't your style, then find something that is. To belittle this program is along the lines of telling a kinesthetic learner that they should use an auditory program simply because you don't like it. Short of puting you in a virtual hands on world, C-pod has done an amazing job of facilitating the abilities of all types of learners. If only they had been around when I learned my first language... things would have been a lot quicker and easier.

September 13, 2008 at 9:49 PMI came back to this thread to display how I've achieved the answers to my own question to find your comment. Thanks Amber. I was basically told the yuanwang is something you hold inside and think about, while the verb with an outward expression such as tossing a coin is as you said "xuyuan".
