January 13, 2012 at 7:05 AMIs it normal in Chinese cities to take a taxi after getting off the subway? Here in Europe, the subway stations are usually close enough to each other that you can walk, and otherwise there is always a bus you can take (unless it's late at night, of course...).

In the expansion section, I noticed the character 都/dōu after the 每天/měi tiān in two of the sample sentences:
我们每天都见面。
我每天都要喝一杯咖啡。
I couldn't figure out the meaning (or function) of this character in those sentences, as there is nothing related to "all" in the translations. Does this add some extra emphasis on 每天 (like: each and every day), or is there some other meaning to this?

November 15, 2011 at 2:58 PMIn the last sentence of the dialogue (那个是不是门铃？), the 那/nà sounds more like "nei" to my ears. Is this a normal way to pronounce this character, or is this some kind of local accent?
