Why has there been no Qingwen in the last 3 weeks? And only one this year?

His agenda is that he was infatuated with Jenny, and any replacement would have copped the same, irrespective of fact and logic.

Ken? Do you realise that Ken left ChinesePod more than 5 years ago?

I also want to hear standard Chinese in preference to Taiwanese Mandarin, and will continue to argue for the use of standard Mandarin here.

But that is ONLY a preference (albeit a common preference), and has absolutely nothing to do with being 'second rate'. Honestly ... such a word choice is offensive. What exactly do you mean by 'non-native' ?

Perhaps you would like to suggest a site whose lesson quality is higher ... and then explain why you are here instead of there.

Perhaps the fact that they have worked out that there is only 11 minutes of action in a 3 hour game. But yes, they do manage to squeeze a tiny bit of action into the breaks between ads. "Speed, strength, teamwork and strategy" apply to ANY code of football, and to say your sport has more of it only indicates your depth of interest in your particular code and lack of understanding of other codes.

NFL players would not survive in a game of rugby/rugby league ... I'd like to see an NFL player go up against the likes of Sonny Bill Williams without padding and helmet ... they'd be running home to mama.

"The ONLY reason it is not more popular world wide is because it is a fairly expensive sport to maintain with all the equipment involved" .... please provide some sort of evidence to show that your use of the word ONLY is more than just your opinion.

And when you say "tied up" is a common phrase in sports, you are obviously arguing that from the point of view of someone who follows American sports. Outside America, you would just say "the scores are equal", or perhaps "the scores are tied", but not "tied up". As mikeinewshot says, "tied up" means something altogether different outside America.

"Second rate"??? Are you kidding?? Please explain what aspects of her Chinese are 'second rate'.

You have done nothing but whine since you lost the "sexy" voice of Jenny (your word). There are definitely reasons for complaining (and there always have been), but you have to give a valid reason for your complaint.

Regarding "right" ..... did you not notice the use of this word and numerous other filler interjections by John? Or do things only become 'irritating' when you are constantly looking for reasons to be irritated?

My opinion is that CPod lessons hit their high point with John and Dilu. I don't think these lessons are quite there yet, but they are far superior to the ones we were getting in 2014 ... again .... my opinion.

The idea of this site is NOT to have 'professional speakers', rather 'natural speakers'.

I'm wondering if 痠 is the right character in the 4th line of the dialog.

The dictionary says it is an alternative to 酸. I hope that doesn't mean it is the Taiwanese character of preference.

How exactly would someone listening to the podcast be able to tell whether or not Fiona is a native speaker? If you have the ability to tell the difference then you are way above Intermediate level. I certainly would not be able to tell.

Expansion sentence 3:

"Give me a bowel of noodles"

Is this the standard breakfast at a Chinese forensic lab?
