February 10, 2010 at 10:02 AMThank you guys! I brought some appliances from the States so I had to use an electrical coverter here in China. It worked great until the fuse burned out and I had a hard time trying to buy a replacement. So now, I'm glad I know how to say "fuse."

September 15, 2009 at 8:48 AMThis is one of the beauties of chinese language. My suggestion is to hang out with your chinese friends and try to say something with yi.
If you said it right, the conversation will continue smoothly. On the other hand, if you say it wrong, most likely they will ask you ni3 shuo1 shen2me5? (what did you say?) and will correct you.

May 7, 2009 at 2:41 AMThis is the first time I hear about zombies, really. Are they dead people, whom living people are afraid of? If that is the case, they can be seen only in movies right? Or is there anyone who can share a real life story about zombies?

May 5, 2009 at 12:43 PMI really liked this lesson. It is very helpful on the usage of "le" as well as the different patterns. I'm a new intermidiate after a long year of study chinese on chinesepod and everything is making much more sense now. Thank you Mike, Janny and John

April 13, 2009 at 6:24 AMHi,
Does anybody know what is the difference between Qing1zhen1 and Hui2min2 regarding eating and drinking habits?
I have some chinese friends and they said that Hui people does not eat pork; however, they do drink beer. Is that generally true. Or does it depend on the personal religious preference?
Thanks in advance.
